Cat-Link on the Ocean.

July 20 1998 - THE WORLD RECORD IS OURS

Last night, Cat-Link V broke four records:

1. Fastest ship to cross the Atlantic. Average speed of 39.874 knots
inclusive a rescue operation which lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes.
2. First ship to cross the Atlantic in less than three days. 2 days, 20
hours and 9 minutes.
3. Longest traveled distance in 24 hours. Cat-Link V covered 1018.2
nautical miles in the last 24 hours before passing Bishop Rock.
4. The Hales Trophy Committee is willing to deduct the time spent on
the rescue operation (2 hours and 10 minutes), which means that
Cat-Link V has broken the 40 knot barrier by crossing the Atlantic
with an average speed of 41.284 knots - NEW WORLD RECORD.

The Blue Riband and Hales Trophy now belongs to DENMARK.

Happy regards from the crew on Cat-Link V
